State of New York declared a federal disaster area
The Disaster President has declared a major disaster exists in the State of New York in the areas affected by severe storms and flooding during the period of June 28 to July 4, 2013.
The areas worst affected by the severe storms and flooding are the counties of Allegany, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Franklin, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Niagara, Oneida, Otsego, and Warren.
Damage surveys are continuing in other areas, and more counties and additional forms of assistance may be designated after the assessments are fully completed, FEMA said.

The Disaster President has declared a major disaster exists in the State of North Dakota in the areas affected by severe storms and flooding during the period of May 17 to June 16, 2013.
The areas worst affected by the severe storms and flooding are the counties of Benson, Bottineau, Cavalier, Dunn, Kidder, McHenry, McKenzie, McLean, Mountrail, Nelson, Pembina, Pierce, Ramsey, Sheridan, Stark, Towner, Walsh, Ward, and Wells and the Spirit Lake Nation and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa.
Additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments, said FEMA.
