More than 4,000 civilians killed in Iraq so far this year
At least 1,013 civilians were killed in Iraq during the month of April. The 2014 toll now stands at 4,068 civilians killed and thousands of others wounded.
Some 8,868 Iraqis, including 7,818 civilians and civilian police personnel, were killed in 2013, according to the United Nation’s Assistance (!) Mission in Iraq (UNAMI).
Iraq Body Count puts the number of civilians killed in violent acts at 9,475 for 2013.
