Earthquake destroys or damages about 10,000 homes in SW China
An earthquake in Kachang Township of Yingjiang County in southwest China’s Yunnan Province has affected more than 300,000 people in 15 towns, destroying or damaging about 10,000 homes.
Centered at 24.926°N, 97.809°E the quake struck at a depth of 10.0km (6.2mi) on May 24, 2014. The quake was later upgraded to magnitude 5.8Mw.
