Major wildfires burn across California assisted by high temperatures and exceptional drought conditions.

Way Fire
Way Fire reported at approximately 3:00 pm, Monday, August 18th.
The fire is 3,000 acres, as of posting.
The Way fire is located in Wofford Heights on the North side of Hwy 155 on lands administered by the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Kern County Fire Department.
Road closures are in effect on Hwy 155 at Sierra Vista, Adams, Mountain View and Rock Haven.
- Evacuations are in effect in Wofford Heights on Bristle Cone, Sycamore, Sireea Vista, Needhem, Llama Lane, Sgt Lane.
- Evacuations in Kernville Burlando Road, Frontier Lane, Plater Road.
- Evacuation center located at Kern Valley High School.
Structures are believed to have been destroyed, no known number at this time.
More structures are threatened.

Eiler Fire Incident Information:
The Eiler Fire exploded from just a few hundred acres to thousands between Friday and Saturday. Evacuations are ongoing for the area. Around the rest of state, red flag warnings were in effect and other fire outbreaks are a major concern. Tens of thousands of lightning strikes across Northern California have caused numerous fires.

July Complex Fire
A storm moved across Siskiyou County on July 29, 2014 with little moisture and a significant amount of lightning—with over 955 down strikes recorded. As of August 1st, the lightning had resulted in at least 26 lightning caused fires on the Happy Camp/Oak Knoll, Salmon/Scott Ranger District, and Goosenest Ranger District.
These fires are now being managed as the July Complex; the Whites fire, Log fire, Leef fire, and Ray’s fire.
The July Complex now includes the Man Fire in the Marble Mountain Wilderness near Man Eaten Lake, about 14 miles northwest of Etna. This fire was caused by lightning on August 12 and is estimated at 180 acres.
The following Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office evacuation order and advisories are in effect: Evacuation Orders Residents should leave immediately. · Evacuation orders are in place for the community of Sawyers Bar and the Eddy Gulch, Little North Fork, Idlewild, Mule Bridge, Robinson Flat and Whites Gulch areas. Once a person leaves, they may not be able to re-enter the evacuation area until the fire danger has passed. Exit via Sawyers Bar Road to Forks of the Salmon and then take Salmon River Road to Highway 96.
Evacuation Advisories Residents should be prepared to evacuate if fire conditions worsen.
- An advisory is in place for the communities of Quartz Valley, Mugginsville, Greenview and South Kidder Creek.
- An advisory is in place for the Scott Valley communities of French Creek and Sugar Creek.
- An advisory is in place for the residents of Black Bear Ranch, Godfrey Ranch and Blue Ridge Ranch.
- A hard closure is in place on the Sawyers Bar Road from east of Sawyers Bar to a point between Etna Summit and Etna. Only firefighting traffic is allowed on the road. See details of the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office evacuation orders and advisories at http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/4035.
National Forest Closure Orders: A new emergency closure order has been issued for the area of the Man and Log Fires. Closure Order No. 14-05-751 on the Salmon Scott River Ranger District of the Klamath National Forest is in effect from August 16, 2014, until the Log and Man Fires are declared out.
