Magnitude 6.9 earthquake strikes near Tambo, Peru

Centered at 14.586°S, 73.578°W the quake struck at a depth of 101.0km (62.8mi), said USGS/EHP.

There were no reports of casualties or major damage, as of posting.

The quake zone is reportedly plagued by multiple copper, silver and gold mines.
