M6.2 quake shakes Southland, New Zealand
Centered at 46.29°S 165.87°E, about 140 km west of Tuatapere (190km W of Invercargill), the quake occurred offshore, northeast of Puysegur Trench, at a depth of 10km, said Geonet.
The quake struck at 5:13:41 on Monday, October 13, 2014, and was followed by at least two significant aftershocks, measuring magnitudes 4.4 and 4.7 respectively, as of posting.
