Intense geophysical events could render Iceland uninhabitable: FIRE-EARTH Forecast

The 173rd significant quake to strike Iceland since late August occurred about 4.3km NNE of Bárðarbunga volcano on Monday.

The M5.4 quake, centered at 64.676N, 17.498S, struck at a depth of about 4.1km, said the Icelandic Met office.

EREs Trigger Deadly Flooding in S Morocco

Dozens of people are dead or missing in southern Morocco after severe flooding, triggered by Extreme Rain Events (EREs), swamped large swaths of the semi-desert country, authorities said.

The floods have destroyed or severely damaged scores of homes across  several regions including  Agadir, Guelmim, Marrakesh, Ouarzazate and Tiznite, according to reports.

Hundreds of tourists were forced to evacuated the affected areas.
