Guam Declared Federal Disaster Area

Guam Typhoon Dolphin (DR-4224)

The Disaster President has declared a major disaster exists in the Territory of Guam in the area affected by Typhoon Dolphin during the period of May 13-16, 2015. 

Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area said additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the territory and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.

Most Americans Say U.S. Morals in Decline

More Americans now describe moral values in the U.S. as ‘poor,’ compared to 2014: Poll

Most Americans (72%) continue to believe the state of moral values in the U.S. is declining . The trend has continued since 2002 when Gallup started its annual Values and Beliefs poll .

Americans are now more pessimistic about the direction of the country’s morals, compared with 2002 and 2003, when 67% said it was deteriorating. “Pessimism peaked between 2006 and 2008, when more than four in five Americans thought the state of moral values was declining,” said Gallup.

“Americans’ views of the state of moral values haven’t changed much over the past 13 years. Despite significant shifts in Americans’ views on same-sex marriage and other moral issues, as well as the increase in those who identify as social liberals, Americans are about as likely as they were in 2002 to consider moral values in the U.S. to be poor and to say they are heading for further decay.”
