Deadly Floods Affect Tens of Thousands in Georgian Capital

Dozens dead or missing in Tbilisi after floods inundate hundreds of homes
Extreme rain events have caused flooding in large portions of the Georgian capital Tbilisi deluging buildings, triggering landslides and leaving dozens of people dead or missing.
The Kura River, which passes through the city, has breached its banks flooding Tbilisi’s zoo, and causing dozens of wild animals to escape.
More than 40 wild animals including bears, lions, jaguars, tigers, wolves… and a hippo are roaming the flood ravaged city.
Authorities have found several dead people and dozens of dead animal in and around the zoo area, according to the social media reports.
