Suddenly, everyone and their aunts become extinction experts

Was it something we said?!
[STOP FISHING FOR INFORMATION! You are regurgitating what we’ve said and throwing it back at us! We’ll tell you ONLY what we intend to, on the need to know basis, but NOT a word more. STOP trying so hard, you’re making it too obvious! Besides, we don’t care WHO claims the credit because they won’t be there to collect. Get it?]
Earth ‘entering new extinction phase’ – US study
The Earth has entered a new period of extinction, a study by three US universities has concluded, and humans could be among the first casualties.
The report, led by the universities of Stanford, Princeton and Berkeley, said vertebrates were disappearing at a rate 114 times faster than normal.
The findings echo those in a report published by Duke University last year.
One of the new study‘s authors said: “We are now entering the sixth great mass extinction event.”

Thank you for allowing my previous comment.
The following excerpts are from the Pope’s recent speech in Bolivia that might also be of interest to some of your readers.
Pope Francis has apologized on behalf of the Catholic Church for offenses committed by the Conquistadors:
“I would also say, and here I wish to be quite clear …: I humbly ask forgiveness, not only for the offenses of the Church herself, but also for crimes committed against the native peoples during the so-called conquest of America.”
The Pontiff said, “not to share wealth with the poor is to steal,” as he slammed capitalism calling it “new tyranny,” and urged his audience to tackle “three great tasks”:
First: To create an economy for the ”service of people” not at the “service of money.” Pope believes focusing on service rather than profits will protect “Mother Earth.”
Second: To unite the peoples on the “path of peace and justice” and defend their sovereignty against “colonialism.”
“The new colonialism takes on different faces. At times it appears as the anonymous influence of mammon: corporations, loan agencies, certain free trade treaties, and the imposition of measures of austerity which always tighten the belt of workers and the poor.” He said, calling the process of “monopolizing communications” as yet another example of “new colonialism.”
Third: To “defend Mother Earth,” by dismantling the existing “system” which ravishes the planet’s ecology.
More excerpts from his speech:
“Do we realize that that system has imposed the mentality of profit at any price, with no concern for social exclusion or the destruction of nature?” he asked the crowd.
“It is no utopia or chimera. It is an extremely realistic prospect. We can achieve it. Working for a just distribution of the fruits of the earth and human labor is not mere philanthropy. It is a moral obligation,” the Pope said.
“We cannot allow certain interests – interests which are global but not universal – to take over, to dominate states and international organizations, and to continue destroying creation,” Pope Francis said, condemning the the world’s governments for “cowardice” in protecting Earth, and calling it “a grave sin.” .
At the end of his address he summed up his speech in a short, strong statement:
“Let us say NO to an economy of exclusion and inequality, where money rules, rather than service. That economy kills. That economy excludes. That economy destroys Mother Earth.”

It’s to do with the psychology of influence [using a powerful weapon in the mind-control arsenal.]
Imagine you’re the author of “Alice the Malice” and have published the first chapter of the book. Now, the literary establishment/elite, who have been wrong-footed, outplayed and brutally outclassed by the riveting volume, desperately wants to know how the story concludes [not least because their survival depends on it,] but you are unwilling to reveal the ending.
So they unleashes their dogs on you. Every day, one or more of the dogs barks authoritatively, sounding as if they wrote the saga and know the ending. [Unless you know the TRICK,] you become infuriated and want to prove ownership, but you can only do so by revealing more [and more] of the plot… And hey presto! They have succeeded to influence your decision-making [remote control,] making you reveal the very information that you initially intended to hold on to.

According to a report produced by Lloyd’s insurance in the UK, “there is a large amount of uncertainty about exactly how climate change might impact world food production over the coming decades, there is general consensus that the overall effect will be negative.”

In my experience, the so-called “Global Sustainability Institute” at Anglia Ruskin University doesn’t represent best of academic integrity, intellectual conscience, or moral scruples.

The problem some people might have with the Pope’s encyclical letter might be that it doesn’t start with an apology on the Church’s behalf. Because every harm done to our “common home” has been taking place right under their nose…
