Powerful Earthquake Strikes Tajikistan

M7.2 quake strikes Gorno-Badakhshan, Pamir Mountains

Centered at 38.258°N, 72.767°E, about 105km W of sparsely populated Murghob, the quake occurred at a depth of 26km, reported USGS/EHP.

The event was followed by at least half dozen aftershocks, including one in as far away as Kyrgyzstan, as of posting.
