The statement is political disinformation.
First, the 2100 time-frame provides reader “comfort.” You, your children, grandchildren and their children won’t have to worry much. And who knows what might happen in 83 years from now.
Second, based on the available data, most, if not all, of Europe will have become unlivable by 2100.
Third, tens of thousands of people are already dying from extremes of heat and cold in Europe each year. Here are a couple of examples that escaped the official censorship.
A heatwave in August 2003, centered in France, killed more than 70,000 people across Europe.

In the 1999-2000 winter more than 48,000 people died from freezing weather in the UK alone.
