FIRE-EARTH Report: Phallic India  – 070502

  • Background: In Hindu mythology, the goddess Kali squats over Shivas’s body, cannibalizes his organs, and then mounts his still erect phallus to complete the cycle of creation. In most Hindu temples, Shiva’s disembodied “linga” is worshiped on its own. Hindus comprise 80 percent of India’s population.
