Humans continue to devour energy at a rate of 17.3 terrawatt in 2011, when maximum ‘safe’ limit, our models show, is less than 1.9 terrawatt.
Anthropogenic harm to the planet reached breaking point in the late 1970s, when the energy consumption rate exceeded 9.51 terawatts (9.51E+12 joules/second). By 1980 the consumption of energy had jumped to 3.12E+20 joules, or 9.89 terawatts.
WE BELIEVE the world will still be here in 2012, 2013, 2014 and beyond. However, in three years from now, it would be a far less habitable planet than it was earlier.

The human impact on the planet is exponentially increasing resulting in major, back-to-back disasters globally.
Earth’s geophysical and climatic activities help the planet to stay alive and healthy. Earthquakes and volcanic activity are among natural phenomena that comprise our planet’s defense mechanisms. Whereas Earth’s magnetic field protects the planet against solar winds, CMEs and geomagnetic storms (‘external threats,’) the impact of harmful human activity on the planet (‘internal threats,’) are countered by other defense mechanisms.

That said, if all “ordinary people” like you stopped buying anything that’s been advertised on or sold by Amazon, Facebook, Google, CNN, Fox… you’ll make a change in the “status quo.”

We’ve heard about his new theory. He seems to suggest if a two-legged person can run a Marathon in time t, then she should be able to complete the course on one leg in 2t. Put differently, if nature can provide life support for 7 billion humans, then 5 percent of Earth’s ecosystems services should be sufficient to support 0.35 billion.
His quantitative arguments may be mathematically consistent, but they have no place in the sustenance of life on this planet.

What you said would happen, has happened so far; your forecasts are amazing!
Recently, at least a dozen blogs have mushroomed on the internet with “disaster” or “2012” in their titles.
Mostly, they are reprinting wholesale chunks of material taken from fire-earth and edro, but twisting the core ideas that you guys have previously presented in such ways so as to obfuscate the human connection.
Such wanton, yet systematic, spread of disinformation isn’t coincidental; it can only come from those whose interests are most threatened–the wealthiest one percent, their criminal corporations and toy governments.
If the core issues concerning the human-caused disasters are not understood, but instead lost in the confusion, the wealthiest would have little to worry about bowing to any major change anytime soon.
The 1 percent presumably believe their money would get them out of trouble when things really get bad.

a. Your hunch was right!
b. We knew with 90+ percent certainty about a couple of days prior to the event occurring.
c. No, we neither released any additional information, nor contacted anyone in a position of authority, because we trust in nature’s ability to make the correct decisions.
Besides, it would have made very little difference in the outcome.
