Google reveals fraction of govt censorship requests

Posted by feww on April 21, 2010

What about Google’s ‘insider’ censorship?

Most (99.99%) of Internet censorship is carried out by Google on its own accord and for monetary gains!

Google reveals a tiny fraction of government data requests and censorship

Note: The above image incorporates the Google logo, which is a trade mark of that disgraceful corporation.

Google has released some details of how often it surrenders user data to various governments or censors information on their behalf.

Google’s list:

  1. Brazil  government (3,663 data requests)
  2. United States (3,580)
  3. The UK (1,166)
  4. India (1,061)

This partial revelation follows Google’s move to pull its search engine out of China over disagreement with the Chinese government concerning the mechanics (not the principles) of online censorship issues.

Google refused to provide statistics on the extent of its censorship in China, calling them “state secrets.”

Google says it also removed content on behalf of various governments as follows (July and December 2009):

  • Brazil (291)
  • Germany (188)
  • India (142)
  • US (123)

“Google’s numbers are not nearly as transparent as they could be,” said Tom Krazit of

“The tool doesn’t break out the data for the number of times Google complied or refused requests for information on individuals. It does say how often—in general—it complies with takedown requests, but does not provide specifics.”

The “tool” [more like bit] is available at

So, what’s the issue? Isn’t Google coming clean with its censorship data?

Far from it. What Google has been doing can be classified as a variation of “insider dealing” concerning the dissemination of information. Google’s suppression of critical information is financially motivated. The company’s practice of censorship is meant to assist and protect its partners and clients.

Most (99.99%) of Internet censorship is carried out by Google on its own accord and for monetary gains!

Who are Google’s partners? The multinationals, national corporations, and even smaller companies, AS WELL AS government agencies like NASA,USGS, NOAA and others in the U.S. [also many organizations in other countries] in which Google has a direct financial stake.

Google has but one motto: “Take Their Money!”

If any information posted on the Internet conflicts in the slightest way with Google’s ability to maximize its global financial interests, that information is suppressed in a number of ways including by filtering, hiding, burying and ultimately removing from Internet.

How do we know this?

Fire-Earth closely monitors the traffic to blog posts, and notes large anomalies with the entries criticizing Google, its partners and clients. Those posts  invariably become “invisible.” See also:  Google’s Top 10 List of ‘Holy Cows’ and California Earthquake Forecast – Update 4.

Kill the World to Save the World!

Posted by feww on December 6, 2007

Is google trying the save the world by creating more energy pollution?

Google announced it would spend hundreds of millions of dollars to fund companies developing clean-energy technology to generate electricity from renewable energy below the price of coal.

“We’re busy assembling our own internal research and development group and hiring a team of engineers and energy experts tasked with building 1 gigawatt of renewable energy capacity that is cheaper than coal. Google’s R&D effort will begin with a significant effort on solar thermal technology, and will also investigate enhanced geothermal systems and other areas.” Google said.

One headline went over the top even by google standards declaring, “Spending Google’s money on conscientious causes” (!)

Larry Brilliant of bewailed, “There are thousands of suicides in southern India because the farmer is unable to keep up with the effects on (his) land from salt water. This is a real phenomenon all over the world, and we have to treat it with the respect and the urgency that it demands; not as another fad or another kind of media event. This is real. … we have two founders who are so impassioned about this…”

Ironically, the world energy demand in the past 12 months increased by at least 10.1EJ (EJ = billion gigajoules) and most probably by as much as 24EJ (~ 760gigawatt) compared with previous period, a demand that is 321 to 760 folds higher than google’s targeted 1 gigawatt capacity. Google is producing additional energy; it is not keeping the coal in the ground! Google’s energy ‘needs’ both present and future can be met by existing generators, without the need to build more power stations.

This begs the question: Is google trying the save the world by producing more energy pollution?

Google is a glorified advertising agency [about 95 percent of its income comes from advertising,] and its interest in renewable energy is motivated by commercial reasons and profit alone. Perhaps the best testimony to google’s true intentions is the extravagant lifestyle of its founders who fly around in a private Boeing 767-200 jet that usually carries up to 180 passengers. To suggest that google’s founders are “so impassioned about this…” is misleading and disingenuous even by their duplicitous standards.

An Excerpt from: The Fate of Energy Dinosaurs

“The key to preventing mass species extinction and preserving human cultures is one of creating the opportunity for humans to evolve at very low rates of energy (and material) consumption.”

Google Blocks Damaging Info on NASA

Posted by feww on September 15, 2007

Fire Earth couldn’t quite understand, after they caught NASA red-handed cooking the ozone hole data (see previous posts), why this site was effectively blocked by Google. Then the following came to light:

NASA provides unparalleled parking spot for private 767 of Google’s billionaire founders

The Independent UK; By David Usborne in New York, Published: 14 September 2007

“The men, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, have landed a privileged parking deal for their Boeing 767 that makes all other executive perks look pedestrian. Since last month, the Google Twins, as they are sometimes known, have been allowed exclusive use of a nearby private airstrip owned by NASA, no less.”

“The Google 767 has been completely refurbished with bedrooms for each of the founders and seats only fifty passengers at its rear.” Read Full Article…

Seems like the obvious answer, doesn’t it? How would you vote if defending some “derisory” issue such as freedom of speech meant you couldn’t fly in your bedroom and land next door to your office?

Unfortunately, the real reasons are much more sinister and are to do with, in Ed Crane’s words, “the subjugation and exploitation of a great majority of people by an elite few by what has been appropriately termed the ‘ruling class’.”
