Powerful Quake Strikes at a depth of about 10 km

Local Tsunami Advisories have been issued for

  • KUJUKURI and SOTOBO areas, CHIBA Prefecture.

The event occurred near Bosei Seamount, east of Japan Trench and about  240km southeast (121 degrees) ESE of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake.
