The quake was felt as far away as the coast of mainland China, about 400km away, according to several reports.

Centered at 56.203°S, 26.893°W (58.0km NNE of Visokoi Island, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands) the quake struck at a depth of 72.7km (45.2 mi) on 2016-05-28 at 09:46:59 (UTC), reported USGS/EHP.

A destructive tsunami is NOT expected.
