Centered at 30.634°S, 71.620 °W the quake occurred at a depth of 31.5 km (19.6 mi), reported USGS/EHP.
The 1960 M9.5 event in southern Chile is so far the largest instrumentally recorded earthquake in the world.

M6.7 quake strikes offshore near Iquique, Chile
Centered at 19.925°S, 70.628°W the strong quake struck at a depth of about 20.0km (12.4mi) on March 16, 2014 at a depth of about 20km, according to USGS/EHP.
The event, followed by at least 7 significant aftershocks, confirmed ongoing intense seismicity at the Peru-Chile Trench.
Tsunami Status
No Tsunami Warnings, Advisories or Watches are in effect.
Chile’s National Office of Emergency of the Interior Ministry (ONEMI) confirmed a 32cm local tsunami.
