M4.5 Strikes SE of Soda Springs

A swarm of at least 155 earthquakes have now struck near Soda Springs, Idaho, spreading over an area of about 400 km²  (~ 155 squared miles) since September 2, 2017.

The largest event measured 4.5 mwr, striking  42.612°N, 111.523°W at a depth of 5.8 km, USGS reported.

Strong Seismic Cluster Striking Soda Springs, Idaho; M5.3 Event Largest Shock

A cluster of at least 34 earthquakes including shocks measuring magnitudes 5.3, 4.3 and 4.2 have struck the State of Idaho. The seismicity appears ongoing, and the pattern is consistent with large-scale magma movement.
