The number of people killed in eastern Ukraine has doubled since July 31 to 2,086, according to the UN estimates, said to be “very conservative.”

“This corresponds to a clear escalating trend,”  UN human rights spokeswoman told Reuters.

In addition to the 2,086 killed, about 5,000 others have been wounded.

The figures comprise civilians, self-defense forces and Ukrainian military. However, those are “very conservative estimates,” said the spokeswoman.

N early a million people have abandoned their homes, including 730,000 people that have fled across the border into Russia, and at least 110,000 others who have been internally displaced in the conflict, according to reports.

110,000 people flee Ukraine, 54,000 internally displaced: UNHCR

The governor of Russia’s Rostov Region has declared a state of emergency for 40 additional municipal districts in the region amid an influx of refugees from Ukraine, said a report.

“A state of emergency has now been declared across the entire region. The measure is aimed at facilitating the work of temporary accommodation centers and ensuring sustenance for the refugees. In early June, a state of emergency was declared in 15 territories bordering Ukraine.”

“Amid simmering tensions in the Ukrainian east, where violent clashes between pro-Kiev forces and independence supporters continue, thousands of civilians are leaving their homes and seeking shelter in neighboring Russia,” said the report.

As of last week, at least 110,000 people had fled Ukraine to Russia since the beginning of the crisis, and more than 54,000 were internally displaced, according the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).

Ukraine President Calls Ukrainians “Dirt and Parasites”

“Ukrainian forces struck at pro-Russian separatist bases in eastern regions with air and artillery strikes on Tuesday after President Petro Poroshenko announced he would not renew a ceasefire but go on the offensive to rid Ukraine of ‘[dirt and] parasites,'” Reuters pro-Kiev reporters said.

China Evacuates 3,000+ Nationals from Vietnam

WARS FOR RESOURCES
SCENARIO 04
.

More than 3,000 Chinese nationals evacuated from Vietnam

More than 3,000 Chinese nationals have been evacuated from Vietnam as of Saturday afternoon, China’s Foreign Ministry said, Xinhua reported.

The recent anti-China violence in Vietnam has left at least two Chinese nationals dead and more than 100 others injured, including 16 critically.

Violent protests erupted over a Chinese oil rig drilling in disputed waters in the South China Sea.

The protests started after China towed Haiyang Shiyou 981 oil rig to a location 220 km off the coast of Vietnam earlier this month.

Vietnamese ships attempted to block the installation of the rig, leading to several collisions with the Chinese vessels.

The protesters targeted companies with Chinese characters in their logos.

Hong Kong-listed sports shoe maker Yue Yuen, which manufactures footwear for Adidas, Nike and several other international brands, has suspended production in Vietnam, Reuters reported.

Angry mobs have set fire to at least 15 foreign-owned factories  including Chinese, Taiwanese, South Korean and Japanese businesses  in several Vietnamese industrial parks.

“An iron and steel complex in Ha Tinh Province of Vietnam, invested by Taipei-based Formosa Plastics Group, was badly hit in the violent attacks triggered by disputes in the South China Sea,” said the report.

“China is to send five ships to Vietnam on Sunday to evacuate [additional] Chinese nationals caught in a deadly anti-China violence, the Ministry of Transport said.”

Disputed Waters

Meanwhile, Manila is taking Beijing to an international court accusing China of reclaiming land on a disputed South China Sea reef.

Philippine govt claims the Chinese are building what appears to be a military base on the Johnson Reef in the Spratly Islands.

Spratly Islands (10°N 114°E; total area of less than 5km²) are a disputed group of at least 750 reefs, islands, islets, cays and atolls in the South China Sea.

The islands are claimed by PR China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei.

SCENARIO 04

Anti-China violence escalates in Vietnam over South China Sea

Two dozen factories have been set on fire in southern Vietnam as anti-China sentiments flare over tensions concerning the disputed islands in South China Sea.

The protests started after China towed Haiyang Shiyou 981 oil rig to a location 220 km off the coast of Vietnam 12 days ago.

Last week, Vietnamese ships attempted to block the installation of the rig, leading to several collisions with the Chinese vessels.

This week, protesters targeted factories owned or operated by the Chinese and Chinese expatriates in the country.

Tens of thousands of workers took part in the protests in which up to two dozen factories were set on fire including those owned by South Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese companies.

The protesters targeted companies with Chinese characters in their logos.

Hong Kong-listed sports shoe maker Yue Yuen, which manufactures footwear for Adidas, Nike and several other international brands, has suspended production in Vietnam, Reuters reported.

U.S. Stratcom to Conduct Nuke Exercise ‘Global Lightning 14’

Posted by feww on May 12, 2014

U.S. nuke drills follow ‘massive’ Russian war games

The U.S. Strategic Command (Stratcom) will hold large-scale bombing drills this week, just days after Russia held “massive” war games simulating a nuclear attack by U.S. and NATO.

A total of sixteen B-52 bombers B-2 strategic bombers will participate in the war games called “Global Lightning 14” starting  May 12 through May 16, said the command.

The purpose of this war drill is to “demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in training scenarios throughout the continental U.S.,” the command said.

“This exercise provides unique training opportunities to incorporate the most current technology and techniques in support of our mission. Continued focus and investment in our strategic capabilities allow US Stratcom to deter, dissuade, and defeat current and future threats to the U.S. and our allies.” said Admiral Cecil Haney, head of Strategic Command.

“This exercise provides unique training opportunities to incorporate the most current technology and techniques in support of our mission,” said the Strategic Command commander, Adm. Haney. “Continued focus and investment in our strategic capabilities allow US Stratcom to deter, dissuade, and defeat current and future threats to the U.S. and our allies.”

Both the Defense Secretary Hagel and the CIA Director have thus far declined to categorize Russia as an enemy.

“We’re not at war with Russia, so do define an enemy as being at war or not at war?” Hagel said on ABC’s This Week. “[Russia is] an adversary in Ukraine, sure,” he said.

“But I think that’s a little simplistic to get into either enemy, friend, partner, so on,” Hagel said. “Russia continues to isolate itself for a short-term gain. The Russians may feel that somehow they’re winning, but the war was not about just short term.”

“Global Lightning 14 is designed to provide training opportunities and to test and validate command and control procedures for U.S. Strategic Command and its subordinate units,” said an Army spokeswoman.

“Just as technology changes, so do the threats. This exercise provides the opportunity to incorporate the most current technology and techniques in support of our mission.”

“[Stratcom] is constantly honing its capabilities to deter, dissuade, and defeat current and future threats to the U.S. and our allies,” she said.

The Next Phase of Collapse: Wars for Resources

Posted by feww on March 5, 2014

HEGEMONY OVER WORLD’S RESOURCES .

Toying with Russia before grabbing her…

The wars for resources are about the survival of the fattest. They are fought by the urge to secure more of other peoples’ resources: More water, more food, more fertile land and more energy to maintain unsustainable lifestyles. —EDRO

In the most likely scenario, after the first phase of world’s cities has collapsed, an all-out global war would break out that would be fought with nuclear, exotic, biological and conventional weapons:

Leaked EU’s Ashton and Estonian Foreign Minister phone tape: Kiev snipers hired by Maidan leaders [thugs]

Officers of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) loyal to the ousted President Viktor Yanukovich have hacked phones of Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Paet and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and leaked their conversation to the web. The officials discuss their impressions of what’s happening in the country after the revolution. The gist of it is that Ukrainian people have no trust in any of the leaders of Maidan [Kiev Independence Square.]

However, the most striking thing of all is the fact which concerns the use of force during the revolution, particularly the snipers who killed both protesters and officers of the riot police. Mr. Paet reveals astonishing information which confirms the rumors that the snipers were employed by the leaders of Maidan.
