Powerful earthquake in SEPR generates 0.47-m tsunami at Easter Island/Isla de Pascua: Chilean Navy

Centered at 32.115°S, 110.779°W the quake occurred at a depth of 15.5km (9.6mi), reported USGS/EHP.

Tsunami Evaluation

The quake generated a tsunami wave amplitude of 0.47m at Easter Island/Isla de Pascua, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) quoted the Chilean Navy as saying.

PTWC said a Pacific-wide destructive tsunami was not expected and there was no threat from the tsunami.
