Hindu gods abandon followers: 110 killed, 350 injured in Hindu temple fire

At least 110 people were killed and more than 350 others injured in a massive fire that broke out during a fireworks display at Puttingal Hindu temple in Kollam, in the southern Indian state of Kerala early Sunday morning, officials have said.

“It was a spark from the crackers being burst that fell into the stack of crackers kept on ground, leading to the fire.”

“Fire at temple in Kollam is heart-rending and shocking beyond words. My thoughts are with families of the deceased and prayers with the injured,” Indian Prime Minister Modi said, announcing a compensation of 200,000 rupees ($3,000) for the families of each of the victims.

Another Strong Earthquake Rattles Hindu Kush

M6.6 quake jolts Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan

Centered at 36.492°N, 71.156°E the quake struck at a depth of 210.4km, reported USGS/EHP.

The quake was felt within a 400-km radius of the epicenter, in as many as six countries, and as far south as northern Faisalabad, Pakistan.

A deadly earthquake measuring  7.5Mw struck the Hindu Kusnh region on October 26, 2015 killing at least 300 people with more than  2,000 others injured.

The quake has affected a vast region, and caused major devastation to multiple communities.

In 2005, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck the Pakistan-administered Kashmir, killing more than 75,000 people.
