Shallow quake strikes 7km (4mi) W of Azle, Texas
The quake measuring 3.3Mw, centered at 32.897°N 97.628°W, about 10km ESE (255 degrees) of Pelican Bay, struck at a shallow depth of 5.0km (3.1mi) on Monday at 01:43am local time.
The shock was latest in a series of 16 earthquakes to hit North Texas this month.
More than 80 minor shocks have occurred in the built-up areas of Johnson, Ellis and Parker counties in the last five years.
