UK Foodbank Use Continues to Rise: 1,182,954 three-day emergency food supplies given to people in crisis
The Trussell Trust, an anti-poverty charity that runs a network of over 420 foodbanks across the UK, provided 1,182,954 three-day emergency food supplies for people in crisis in the year to March 31, 2017 including 436,000 to children.
The no. of food supplies provided in the previous year (2015-16) was 1,109,309, or about 74,000 fewer.
