The earthquake destroyed scores of buildings and damaged thousands more across a wide area, inducing about 2,300 schools alone, according to reports.
The official death toll now stands at 230 across five states, with at least 100 fatalities in the capital, but it’s expected to rise, as search for survivors continues.
