Italy Mudslide Derails Train, killing 12, injuring 25

Posted by feww on April 12, 2010

A landslide derails a train in Castebello, north Italy, killing at least 12 people, injuring 25 more

At least 4 of the injured were reported to be in a critical condition.

The accident occurred close to the  town of Merano, a famous winter sports resort, near the Austrian border.

According to a report a damaged irrigation pipe had saturated the mountainside, triggering a collapse, which led to the disaster.

The railway line, which runs along the Adige river, is said to be one of the newest in Italy inaugurated only 5 years ago.

A wagon of the derailed train, thrown off its tracks by a landslide, was left hanging precariously several meters over the Adige river as firefighters used cables to prevent it from falling down the mountainside, ANSA said. Photo: AFP. Image may be subject to copyright.

California Earthquake Forecast – Update 4

Posted by feww on April 12, 2010

Google Inc. Continues to Filter, Block and Bury Information Posted on Fire Earth and Affiliated Blogs

Additionally, since at least the beginning of March 2010, nearly every entry posted on Fire-Earth, which show up in Google searches, point to Ning Network, diluting Fire Earth traffic by at least 50 percent.

See evidence :

To prevent Google and rest of the Internet Mafia from making financial gains by acting on the information provided, which they filter and conceal from the public, the Fire-Earth science advisory team have advised blog Moderators that as of today they have suspended all research into California’s seismic activity until further notice.

The  Fire-Earth science advisory team hereby advise their family members, friends, colleagues and all of the good people of California to relocate out of the state.

HP Director, Google Continue To Steal Internet Traffic

Posted by feww on April 12, 2010

Background:

Google Sends Search Traffic to 3rd Party

Marc L. Andreessen, a Hewlett-Packard Director, and Google continue to steal Internet traffic from Fire-Earth

About 50 percent of the traffic generated by specific searches for  Fire-Earth content goes to an unrelated 3rd party, Ning Network.

Note: No information concerning Fire-Earth blog is posted on Ning Network.

The following Print Screens show Google search results for the last 4 entries posted consecutively on Fire Earth blog:

Why Google So Desperate?

A possible motive why Google is stealing Internet traffic from Fire-Earth blog and sending search results to NING Network:

“Tech visionary Marc Andreessen and partner Ben Horowitz have raised $300 million from Horsley Bridge, Google, and luminaries Reid Hoffman and Peter Thiel.”

6.2Mw Quake Strikes Spain

Posted by feww on April 12, 2010

Strong Magnitude 6.2 Earthquake Strikes Near Granada, Spain

The earthquake occurred at a depth of about 620km on Sunday April 11, 2010 at at 22:08:11UTC with the epicenter located at 37.05°N, 3.49°W.

The event occurred near the African-Eurasian plate-boundary in the Betic Cordillera  Zone, a part of the Gibraltar Arc.

The epicenter was located about 200km (166 degrees) south of Columba volcano, the youngest vent in the Calatrava volcanic field.

There was no immediate report of damage or injuries as of posting. Little damage should occur because the hypocenter was located deep beneath the surface, at a depth of about 620km.

Fire-Earth Moderators interpret the event as follows:
1. Sign of increased tectonic activity in the African and Eurasian plates boundaries.
2. Possible new phase of volcanic unrest/activity in the Calatrava volcanic field.

    • 375 km S of MADRID

UPDATE and Additional Information:

The magnitude of this earthquake has been raised to 6.3Mw by USGS/EHP.

Tectonic Summary

The seismotectonics of the April 11, 2010 M6.3 Spanish earthquake is enigmatic, but the occurrence of deep earthquakes beneath this region of Spain are well-documented. The location of the April 11, 2010 M6.3 and it’s unusual depth of 616 km suggests that it is related to the well-studied M7.1 deep Spanish earthquake of March 24, 1954. The epicenter of the 1954 earthquake, based on the distribution of ground shaking at the surface (macroseismicity) and limited instrumental recordings of the earthquake, is beneath the town of Dúrcal, 20 km south of Granada. Since the 1954 earthquake, a handful of small magnitude earthquakes (3 and smaller) have occurred in approximately the same location (Buforn et al., 1991). Southwest of the April 11, 2010 M6.3 earthquake in the area of the Alboran Sea, convergences of the African and Eurasian plates does produce a well-defined zone of small magnitude (M < 4) to depth of 200 km. Other than the localized zone of seismicity near 600 km depth, there are no known earthquakes between 200 km and 600 km depth.
